The Purpose Center offers highly accurate career assessments to those who are unsure about their educational or career goals. Purpose Center staff will help individuals through conversations regarding their career assessment results and discuss the different programs offered at Surry Community College that are good matches.

In addition to career exploration, assistance with resumes and cover letters is offered, as well as possible job placement services. The Purpose Center has partnered with Surry-Yadkin Works and receives resumes from those who are going through the Surry-Yadkin Works program, as well as from students who are getting ready to graduate from Surry Community College, or those in the community who are searching for a job. Furthermore, the Purpose Center is in communication with local employers who are interested in Surry Community College graduates.

Surry Community College offers a community Job Board, a convenient resource that connects employers with SCC students and alumni seeking employment opportunities. Local businesses, organizations, and industry partners are invited to post full-time, part-time, temporary, and internship positions to reach a talented pool of candidates. The Job Board is designed to support workforce development and create meaningful connections between employers and the SCC community.
