High Quality Affordable Education

Save more than $25,000 in tuition and fees over two years by choosing Surry Community College to kickstart your bachelor's degree. Cost estimates are intended as a resource. Your actual costs may vary based on your actual enrollment, program, and individual need.

Charges are set by the North Carolina State Legislature and are subject to change.

Tuition Rates & Fees

The following are tuition rates for curriculum and workforce education courses. Amounts listed are estimates only. Tuition is controlled by the North Carolina State Legislature and is subject to change without notice.

Curriculum Tuition & Fees

In order for out-of-state students to qualify for the in-state tuition rates, Surry Community College must have either a company check made out to Surry Community College or an official authorization from the employer giving us permission to bill them for the entire in-state tuition balance. If paying by a company check, you must have a letter on official company letterhead stating that you are an employee for that industry or business.

In order to make a payment online you MUST be logged into your MyKnightLife account.
Self-supporting classes may exceed the standard state-established tuition rate.

Registration and tuition fees are set by the North Carolina General Assembly and may change. Anyone repeating an occupational course for the third time will be charged an additional fee. A student who wishes to withdraw from a course must contact the Corporate and Continuing Education office prior to the 10% point of the scheduled hours of the class to be eligible for a refund. A 75% refund will be given if the student requests the refund in a timely manner.

Many grant and scholarship opportunities are available as well. Please complete the WTCE Scholarship and Financial Aid Form and a counselor will review your information to see if you are eligible for assistance.

Virginia residents pay the same tuition rate as in-state students.

The Surry Skill-up grant is available to Surry and Yadkin county residents. Interested individuals must meet the federal TRIO income guidelines, and attend a Project Skill-Up advising session.
