The North Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions has awarded the Piedmont Triad Regional Workforce Development Board a total of $40,000 in Finish Line Grant funds for their partnership with Surry Community College.

Eligibility Requirements

The Finish Line Grant is for currently enrolled students who are at least 18 years of age, and authorized to work in the United States. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, and have completed 50% of proposed degree or credential to be eligible. Funds received can be used for transportation, auto repairs, child care, housing, utilities, healthcare, books, tuition, and more.


Documents to be Collected for Completion of Finish Line Grant Enrollment
  1. Valid driver’s license or state ID
  2. Social Security card
  3. Birth certificate or proof of citizenship
  4. Invoice or bill for service requested
  5. Rental agreement if rent is requested
  6. Tuition statement
  7. Proof of financial aid or denial
