Surry Community College is excited to offer a new and innovative program this summer for anyone looking to enhance their skills and prepare for careers in the Construction and Engineering Technology fields.

Construction or Engineering Technology

This course introduces fundamental employment core skillsets required to effectively enter the construction or engineering technology workforce and/or a registered apprenticeship and may also serve as a component of a pre-apprenticeship. Upon completion, students should be able to explain how to locate and engage employers, present themselves in a professional manner, perform basic on-the-job skills, pursue necessary job-specific training and/or certification, and enter a construction or engineering technology career with the knowledge required to be successfully employed.

Earn several credentials

  1. OSHA-10 General Industry Safety and Health
  2. National Career Readiness Certificate
  3. DiSC Behavior Assessment
  4. Three credit hours toward a degree in Construction Management or Engineering Technology

  • In-State: $183.00
  • Out-of-State: Virginia residents pay the same tuition rate as in-state students.
