Thinking About Becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant?

Attend a Virtual Information Session when Dr. Eileen Coleman, Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Surry Community College, will talk to prospective students about the program’s opportunities, requirements and advise students on how to prepare for the admissions process. Participants will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Coleman questions during each session.

Physical Therapist Assistant is a two-year degree program, located at Surry Community College’s Yadkin Center, that prepares graduates to work in direct patient care settings under the supervision of physical therapists.

Assistants work to improve or restore function by alleviation or prevention of physical impairment and perform other essential activities in a physical therapy department under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist.

The admissions deadline for Fall 2024 is May 31, 2024. The average salary for a Physical Therapist Assistant is around $64,000.

The virtual meetings will be held via Microsoft Teams on:

  • Monday, September 11, 9-10 a.m.
  • Tuesday, September 19, 3-4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 27, 7-8 p.m.
