Athletics

Surry Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Region X (North Carolina/South Carolina/Virginia). The Surry Knights athletic department focuses on the overall development of all student-athletes within the college environment. SCC strives to assist student-athletes in their quest to excel in academic achievement, personal development, and athletic competition.

Phi Theta Kappa (National Honor Society)

The National Honor Society provides the opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.

Scholars of Global Distinction

The Scholars of Global Distinction program allows students to gain global skills that will be marketable and rewarding as they enter the workforce or pursue further education.

Student Government Association

Promoting better student government, better academic achievement, student activities, to better student-faculty relations, to heighten standards of contact among students and remain a member in good standing of the North Carolina Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association.

Purpose Center & Career Assessment

If you are unsure about your educational or career goals, stop by Surry Community College’s Purpose Center on the Dobson campus in the A-Building for assistance in determining your goals. At the Purpose Center, the career coaches will give you a career assessment and introduce you to the college’s many educational programs. Surry Community College offers students hands-on experiences through work-based learning, internships, and apprenticeship programs.

Career Coach is a unique online tool that displays job and career opportunities in the Surry, Yadkin, and surrounding areas. It is a service Surry offers to students, prospective students, and the community.
