Posted: Oct 16, 2018

Spring is a great time to start college. Whether you are looking to further your academics or start a new career, Surry Community College is here to help. The deadline to register for classes is December 21. Classes begin January 7.

To register, you must have a complete admissions file with official transcripts and test scores, as applicable. If you were enrolled in the fall semester and have not registered, you may enter spring courses into Student Planning for approval.

Apply online at www.surry.edu. Then, contact Student Services at (336) 386-3264 or email reghelp@surry.edu to schedule a Guide, Plan, Succeed (GPS) Session with an advisor and register for classes.

In order to schedule an appointment, you must have a complete admissions application including official transcripts and placement testing, if applicable.

New Student Orientation

Be sure to register for Spring Orientation once you have registered for classes.

Placement Test

Students are required to take the placement test if they are pursuing a degree, diploma, or certificate or if they are planning to enroll in a course with a pre-requisite. Exemptions are approved with appropriate transcripts or score reports.

For more information visit the Testing Center page under Services for Students in myKnightLife or call (336) 386-3346.

Current Students

Current students will use Student Planning in myKnightLife to plan and register for their courses. View our Student Planning Quick Guide for additional information.

SCC highly encourages all students to meet with their academic advisor on a regular basis to discuss career and educational goals. However, for registration purposes, students who have earned fewer than 24 semester hours of credit and/or have below a 2.6 GPA must have their plan of courses approved by their advisor prior to registering for classes.
