SCC Students Make Generous Donations to Salvation Army and Yadkin Christian Ministries

The students of Frank Cugliari’s Introduction to Business class (BUS-110) at Surry Community College’s Yadkin Center recently participated in a social responsibility project by donating items to The Salvation Army and Yadkin Christian Ministries.

What began as a class lesson on social responsibility within the business setting, turned into a charitable class project. The class is an Information Highway class with students attending class at the Dobson campus and the Yadkin Center.

The class succeeded in donating 45 coats to the Salvation Army, and 233 canned food items to the Yadkin Christian Ministries Food Bank.

Participating students included: Savannah Blackburn and Karen Huerta Gomez of Dobson; Jaqueline Bravo and Holton Jackson of Elkin; Jordan Reed of Jonesville; Payton Foster and Alejandro Gonzalez of Yadkinville; Eric Olvera, Ashlyn Pierce, Manley Stovall, Tryston Strickland, Giselle Vega, and Keaton Ward of Mount Airy; Thomas Cox, Lathan Curry, Kendra Davis, and Gisell Hernandez of Boonville; Litzy Quintero and Connor Edwards of East Bend; and Audrey Turner of Union Grove.
