Surry Community College has a robust lineup of Engineering Night classes slated for the Fall Semester 2019.
Night classes generally start around 5 or 6 p.m. and run until 9 or 10 p.m. The night course offerings now include classes in Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology (also known as HVAC); Collision Repair and Refinishing (also known as Autobody); Electrical; Machining; Welding; Construction Management; Automotive; and Drafting (also known as Engineering Design).
“We added additional night classes to give more flexibility to students who may work a first shift job, ” said Adam Vaughn, Engineering Division Chair. “This fall many of our classes are taught through curriculum and continuing education. This blended class opportunity gives students the option to select how they want to enroll based on their educational goals of seeking college credit or short-term work force skills. Virginia residents can take the continuing education classes at the same tuition rate as North Carolina residents. ”
Welding is offered as a night class opportunity at Surry Community College's Dobson campus and at the and The Yadkin Center's G. Allen Mebane IV Industrial Training Center in Yadkinville. Night classes are also available in HVAC, Autobody, Electrical, Machining, Construction Management, Automotive, Sustainability and Drafting on the Dobson campus.
The detailed class schedule can be found on www.surry.edu by going to the fall registration page and then selecting “View Fall Courses. ” The classes are offered on the Dobson campus with Welding being offered at both the Dobson campus and The Yadkin Center's G. Allen Mebane IV Industrial Training Center in Yadkinville.
