Surry Community College is hosting FAFSA Day on Saturday, January 27, from 9 a.m. to noon on the Dobson campus in the A-Building.

This is a free event for high school students, current college students, families and adult learners where they can get one-on-one or small group help with FAFSA completion and submission. This is a can't-miss opportunity to answer all your questions about the new FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

By filling out the FAFSA, you could access grants and scholarships that you do not have to pay back or work-study programs that allow you to earn money working at Surry Community College.

There is no requirement to accept any aid offered, but the FAFSA can help you understand your options such as the Next NC Scholarship, which is a new financial aid program that helps most North Carolinians from households making $80,000 or less pay for more than half, if not all, of tuition and fees to attend any community college or public university in the state.

Applying for the Next NC Scholarship is simple. Students just need to submit the FAFSA form, and if they're eligible, they will receive the Next NC Scholarship. There are no additional forms to fill out.

Register for FAFSA Day.
