Learn HVAC Skills This Fall at SCC

Date:

Surry Community College is offering an excellent lineup of Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Technology, also known as HVAC, courses this fall.

The Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology curriculum provides the basic knowledge to develop skills necessary to work with residential and light commercial systems. SCC offers a certificate, a diploma, and a degree in this program.

The certificate classes are offered to high school students through the tuition-free Career & College Promise Program (CCP). CCP students should complete the certificate over two semesters. Interested high school students should speak to their high school advisors.

Intro to Refrigeration, Heating Technology, Advanced Comfort Systems, and HVAC System Diagnostics classes are scheduled for Aug. 17 through Dec. 18. These classes are offered in the daytime with Heating Technology being scheduled in the daytime and in the evening.

A Refrigerant Certification class is also scheduled in the evening from Oct. 16 through Dec. 18.

Intro to Refrigeration, Heating Technology, and Refrigerant Certification classes are being offered as workforce training classes, as well as college credit classes. Workforce training classes cost the same tuition rate for in-state and out-of-state students.
