Registration for Fall 2020 classes is going on now. The Office of Student Services is also seeing students by appointment for admissions, advising, financial aid, and disability and testing services. Classes start August 17. To register, you must have a complete admissions file with official transcripts and test scores, as applicable. If you were enrolled in the Spring semester and have not registered, you may enter Summer or Fall courses into Student Planning for approval.
Appointment links for each Student Services division are listed below.
Students will be instructed to visit the gym prior to entering the “A” building for a wellness check, where students will be asked to complete a brief survey and have their temperature taken.
At this time, students are not permitted to bring a friend/family member with them to their appointment. If the student needs their parent to assist them with FAFSA, Disability Services, etc., a virtual meeting with the staff member, student, and parent will be initiated.
The Office of Student Services will accommodate walk-ins, as staffing and space allows. First, all walk-ins must report to the Gym for a wellness check. The process will be the same as those with appointments for the most part. However, if the office is at capacity, the student will be asked to wait in their vehicle and a staff member will text/call the student when they become available.
In order to keep our students and staff safe, and in compliance with temporary changes to RISE placement criteria from NCCCS, Surry Community College has adopted the following temporary placement test policy. This policy will be in effect for the Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 semesters.
Apply online, then contact Student Services at (336) 386-3264 or email email@example.com to schedule a Guide, Plan, Succeed (GPS) Session with an advisor and register for classes.

SCC highly encourages all students to meet with their academic advisor on a regular basis to discuss career and educational goals. However, for registration purposes, students who have earned fewer than 24 semester hours of credit and/or have below a 2.6 GPA must have their plan of courses approved by their advisor prior to registering for classes.
Students can email their advisor to setup an appointment. You may also email firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information. Students can locate their assigned advisors in Self-Service. Students can also email and schedule a meeting with their advisor directly through Aviso Engage.
If there is not an advisor listed in your profile, please reach out to the appropriate advisor below. Staff will be available, daily, from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm via email or Microsoft Teams Chat.
