Engineering Technologies Open House April 11 in Dobson

Get a hands-on skill and land a job! Surry Community College will be holding an Engineering Technologies Open House for prospective students on Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the K-Building, in Dobson.

Pre-registration is requested for this event. By pre-registering, you will be eligible for the $250 scholarship drawing provided by the Surry Community College Foundation.

Learn more about Mechatronics, Machining, Automotive, Construction, Autobody, Electrical Systems, HVAC, Welding and Engineering Design. Enter a $250 scholarship drawing and get help with college application and financial aid at the event. Take a tour of the classrooms and labs.

Adults who are looking to retool and retrain should attend these events. Additionally, high school students interested in Career & College Promise tuition-free, dual enrollment opportunities for their junior and senior years are encouraged to attend along with students who will be graduating from high school this year.

The following Engineering Technologies programs will be featured at the event. All of these programs are offered as Career & College Promise opportunities. Additionally, Automotive, Machining and Welding are offered as continuing education classes for non-credit seeking students.

Summer 2019/Fall 2019 Class Registration

  • Current student registration begins April 1.
  • New student registration begins April 8.
  • Summer 2019 classes start May 20.
  • Deadline to register for Fall 2019 classes is Aug. 2.
  • Fall 2019 classes begin Aug. 15.
