Caleb Gilley - Employee Spotlight


Caleb Gilley has been working as a Student Success Advisor at Surry Community College since summer 2020.

He attended Appalachian State University where he majored in Workforce Leadership & Development. He is also an NC Real Estate Licensed Broker.

Caleb has strong ties to the Surry County area as a graduate of East Surry High School and a former volleyball coach for the school. These roots have further grown in his roles at Surry Community College. As a Student Success Advisor, he currently works specifically with students of Surry County Schools as their college advisor. He also serves as the Head Volleyball Coach for the Surry Knights, a position he started in 2019.

Gilley’s advice to students is that “life is going to happen at some point, just make sure you realize there is always another day - so take a deep breath and keep moving forward.”
