EMS: Emergency Medical Responder - Initial 0023 - 01

This course is designed to train individuals with the knowledge and skills to operate as First Responders throughout the state. Students are instructed in Basic Life Support skills including the use of AED to assist Emergency Medical technicians in the field. Many EMRs work with volunteer agencies and this credential is a requirement for some paid fire departments and law enforcement agencies.

EMS: Advanced EMT - Initial 0022 - 01

The Paramedic course is designed to develop knowledge and skills for the Advanced Emergency care of ill or injured persons. These Future Clinicians will be taught Critical Life-Saving Interventions and Medical Knowledge that are on the leading edge of Paramedicine. Students will be prepared to provide the highest-level Emergency Medical care and ready for the NC State and/or National Registry Paramedic Exam. Once successfully credentialed, they will begin a career in the Medical Profession as an entry-level paramedic with EMS agencies or in Medical Facilities across the state or nation.

This is a Hybrid Course with online coursework and required in-class attendance on flip-flop dates each week.
