Each student must bring the most current copy of their radar certificate and an updated Radar manual.
Radar or Radar Lidar Operator Recertification is a program offered under the rules and regulations of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and requires 100% attendance of the minimal instructional hours. This class is for those who are Radar/Lidar or Radar certified or those who are within their 12 months “grace” period. Each individual participant must bring a current Radar and Lidar Operator Manual and all Supplements to class and a vehicle equipped with a radar unit and a Lidar unit in which they are seeking certification. Officers who are field testing on units equipped with front and rear antenna must be prepared to test on the full operation of the unit.
Reserve Seat
This course is a forty-seven (47) hour course for those seeking certification as an emergency services telecommunicator, including call takers and dispatchers. It is designed to provide participants with the entry level knowledge and skills to practice as an emergency services telecommunicator. One hundred percent attendance is required to take the state exam. Students attending the course must have the current Telecommunicator Certification Course Manual which can be purchased at the NCJA Bookstore or the SCC Campus Bookstore.

The Basic Law Enforcement Training Day Course starts in January and June every year. For classes that start in January, the application process opens October 1 of each year. For classes that start in May and June, the application process opens on March 1 of each year.

There will be approximately 12 daytime extended hour sessions to accommodate State mandated training requirements.
Class Times:
This class is for officers who are currently employed by a law enforcement agency and who have completed Basic SWAT Training or have a minimum of two(2) years as a team member. The class meets for eight hours(8) each day on May 8, 9, 15 & 16, 2023 for a total of thirty-two (32) hours. Basic Lidar Operator Certification is a Commissioned recognized course of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. This class is for those who are currently certified on "Radar". Participants must bring a current LIDAR Manual along with all supplements and a LIDAR instrument
This course is a one day, 10 hour course and will test the following day at the venue indicated.
