Workforce Certificate, Online, On Campus
This 4-month Patient Access Associate Certificate course introduces the skills and abilities needed in today’s office environment. Topics include effectively interacting with co-workers and the public, processing documentation, and performing functions typical of today’s offices/hospitals. Upon completion, students should be able to display skills and decision-making abilities essential for functioning in the total office context.
Upon completion of this course, individuals should be able to apply for positions in both hospital and physician practice settings.
Instructional Format: Hybrid. Some face-to-face class meetings as well as online instruction.
Note: Medical Terminology is not a pre-requisite but is strongly recommended.
First class will be in J 107 on the Dobson main campus. The remainder of class will meet at Northern Regional Hospital in the computer lab.
Pre-registration and pre-payment required. There are no pre-requisites, however, Medical Terminology is strongly recommended.

Cost: $183 plus associated books, tools, and supplies
Virginia residents pay the same tuition rate as in-state students.
