Program Overview

The Nail Technician / Manicurist curriculum is designed to prepare students to become a licensed Nail Technician in North Carolina. The course provides competency-based knowledge, scientific/ artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the nail technician industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills.

  • Do I have to wear a uniform?
    • Navy scrubs, a black smock, black socks and black closed-toed shoes are required
  • Can I become licensed after completing the course?
    • Yes, upon successful course completion, the student must apply for temporary state license and also apply to sit for the state two-part examination.
    • Your nail technician career is under the oversight of the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners.

Nail Technician Manicurist 3101A - A01

Class will meet the first day, 8/17/21 at 4:30 pm at the Yadkin Campus room YA-216. Remaining classes will meet at the Main Campus room H-128. Labs will meet in person. Lecture will meet online. More information will be given on the first night of class. You must bring a photo ID and your Social Security card on the first night of class.

Registration begins June 9.

Seating is limited.
