Program Overview

This 1-semester Information Technology certificate is designed to introduce students to the business world of information technology. Concepts include operating systems, web design, and introductory programming, networking and information security. Classes are part of the IT Certificate but offered individually as well. This entire certificate is offered online and may be started in Fall or Spring.

Total credits needed to graduate: 240 Hours

These courses meet the requirements for the “Continuing Education to Curriculum Credit” method of Credit for Prior Learning competencies and earn course credit. The content mastered is comparable to the student learning outcomes of a SCC curriculum course and may be used to fulfill degree, diploma, or certificate requirements. Program Costs

Cost: Tuition rates based on course hours. Total project cost for this certificate is $1800.

Virginia residents pay the same tuition rate as in-state students for Workforce, Technologies & Community Education (WTCE) certifications and courses.

Many grant and scholarship opportunities are available as well. Please complete the WTCE Scholarship and Financial Aid Form and a counselor will review your information to see if you are eligible for assistance.
