Skills Training, On Campus
Surry Community College offers a variety of courses in Electrical, Electronics, Truck Driver Training, HVAC, Machining, Welding, and Forklift Operator Training. Many of these classes can be taken through continuing education for skill seeking students or through curriculum for college credit seeking students.
The classes are offered on the main campus in Dobson and at learning centers in Pilot Mountain, Elkin, Mount Airy, and Yadkinville. If you do not see a class you need listed, please request it by emailing hardingjm@surry.edu or calling (336) 386-3618. You can also use this contact information for any questions you have about registration. The tuition is the same for Virginia and North Carolina students taking classes through Workforce Education.
It’s a great place to learn welding. The instructors are very qualified, and your education can take you far if you put in the work.
