Workforce Certificate, On Campus
The Electrical Systems Institute program is designed to provide training for persons interested in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems found in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. This program will include topics such as: AC/DC theory, basic wiring practices, industrial motor controls, applications of the National Electric Code, and diagrams and schematics.
Upon completion of this course, individuals should be able to apply for positions with construction or electrical companies/contractors.
Instructional Format: Face-to-face class meetings to include lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice and simulation of scenarios.
Articulation to Curriculum Courses:
ELC 113 - Residential Wiring
ELC 125 - Diagrams and Schematics
Cost: $183 plus associated books, tools, and supplies
Virginia residents pay the same tuition rate as in-state students.
