Supervised Sewing

Students will work on their own projects that have already been started, or they may begin one in class. This class will provide the opportunity for students of various ability levels to have sewing assistance available as they work to complete their project(s). The instructor will be able to give advice on recognizing straight and cross grains in fabric, properly cutting and marking fabric, the use of helpful sewing tools, identifying and using interfacings, proper pressing techniques, the installation of zippers, construction of buttonholes, layout of patterns, various seam finishes, hand sewing techniques and other sewing skills.
