Beginner Fiddle

In this class, students will have the opportunity to learn how to play the fiddle in the Old Time style. An emphasis will be placed on Surry County style and tunes. You will learn the basic technique and practice for playing the fiddle, as well as the social context and history around old time music in our region. Students may have the opportunity to play with others from the banjo and mandolin classes for a jam session experience.

Students must provide a fiddle and bow in working condition.
