Welding - MIG (Continuing Education)
This course introduces metal arc welding (MIG) with emphasis on safety and use of the GMAW (MIG) welding process on carbon steel, aluminum and stainless plate. Topics include equipment setup and fillet and groove welds. Upon completion, students should be able to perform fillet welds on carbon steel with prescribed electrodes in the flat and horizontal positions using GMAW equipment. This is a basic course and no experience is necessary. Leather shoes are required; leather boots with steel toes are highly recommended. Students must wear long denim pants and long sleeve shirts; no synthetic clothing.
