Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training – (FSMA)

This is a one-day training course for growers on the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) standardized curriculum that meets the regulatory requirements of the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule. Who should attend: The Produce Safety Rule requires all farms that grow, pack, harvest and/or hold covered produce, making over $25,000 in annual produce sales (average over the last 3 years) and not qualifying for an exemption from the Rule to attend this training.

Spring Garden and Soil Prep

Spring Garden Prep II

Manage and plan out your 2019 summer vegetable garden. In this class we will plant seeds for the gardens that will provide an abundance of spring and summer produce for your family. Fertilizing, and the start of our pest management series, will lead into the next class.

Spring Garden III

Pest management and fertilization is the most important thing for a successful and productive season. The use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) as a production tool will be examined and demonstrated in the greenhouse.

Pruning is a Must

In this class many methods of pruning vegetable plants will be shown so the harvest is abundantly higher. New methods of planting in small area and trellising will also be demonstrated.

Water is Life

In this class the use of various irrigation methods will be discussed. Students will learn how to use and conserve water, as well as the amounts needed for good production and when watering is best.

Reap what you Sow-Planting with Purpose, Part II
