Within Transportation Systems Technologies, Surry Community College offers Automotive Systems Technology, Collison Repair and Refinishing Technology, Truck Driver Training, and Trucking Operations Management. The Automotive Systems Technology program offers a degree, diploma, or certificate and prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles. Students can receive a degree in Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology and obtain the technical knowledge and skills necessary to repair, reconstruct and finish automobile bodies, fenders, and external features.
There is a local and national high demand for truck drivers, and our Truck Driver Training certificate program teaches individuals proper driving procedures and safe driving techniques, laws, and regulations that place graduates directly into jobs. The Trucking Operations Management certificate provides students with the skills needed for entry-level positions in supply chain and logistics positions in government agencies, manufacturing, and service organizations.
