A new student is someone who has never attended SCC to obtain college credit.
A health sciences student is someone who is applying for one of the following programs: Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Licensed Practical Nursing to Associate Degree Nursing, Medical Assisting, Physical Therapist Assistant, or the Practical Nursing program.
A returning student is a former Surry Community College student who is returning after a year to complete a degree, diploma, or certificate.
If you have you taken classes at SCC in the past year, but took time off, then follow these steps.
A transfer student is someone who has already attended a college or university before and will be seeking a degree, diploma, certificate, or an SCC student who wishes to complete 12 or more credit hours in order to transfer to another college or university.
An international student is someone who lives outside of the United States. An undocumented student is someone who has graduated from a US public or private high school, or home school that operates in compliance with state or local law.
